5 Tips for Learning English Under Quarantine

Hi Guys!

Chances are you are most likely stuck at home and unable to leave the house due to the COVID19 lockdown. The good news is that there are plenty of things you can do to make sure that you maintain your progress while you are unable to receive classes in person. We thought that we would share some of our tips for learning English that you can do from your own home!

Why not Book a Class Online?

That’s right just because we aren’t physically able to give you classes in person doesn’t mean that classes have to stop! Having classes over skype/zoom/google hangouts is just as useful as having classes in person, especially if you are regularly required to speak to English clients over video calls!

Why not Watch a Series on Netflix or Another Streaming Platform?

I am sure that you are already watching plenty of Netflix so why not add a few English TV shows to your watch list? If you are worried that you’re not quite up to the challenge of watching an entire TV show in English you can download the Learn English With Netflix chrome extension. This will allow you to slow down the playback speed if you feel they are speaking too quickly. With the extension you are also able to have subtitles in both the original language and your native language simultaneously.

Why not Check out Some of the Great Language Learning Apps out There?

If you are feeling bored there are plenty of fun apps which you can use for your daily dose of English. Many of these apps are great fun and designed to be a great time sink. You can see a list of some of our most recommended apps here. So Give it a go!

Why not Listen to a Podcast?

Podcasts are an excellent way of improving your listening and learning new vocabulary. Listening to Podcasts can also improve your pronunciation as well. If you have Spotify, check out our brand new Teachify podcast.
